# Football goal notifications on iPhone: the setup that actually works

A goal alert is only useful if it arrives before your group chat does. Getting that right on iPhone is a mix of two things: an app that sends alerts in real time, and iOS settings that do not hold them hostage. Five minutes, start to finish.

## 1. Start with an app that sends per-team alerts

The iPhone only delivers what an app sends, so the app choice comes first. Look for alerts that are per team and per event type. In KickFlow you follow the teams you care about and choose exactly what you get: goals, kickoff, halftime, full-time results and VAR decisions. Everything else stays silent.

## 2. Allow notifications properly

1. On first launch, tap **Allow** when iOS asks about notifications.
1. Said no by accident? Go to **Settings > Apps > KickFlow > Notifications** and turn **Allow Notifications** on.
1. Enable **Lock Screen** and **Notification Center** banners, and keep sounds on if you never want to miss a goal.

## 3. Beware Focus modes and Scheduled Summary

If alerts feel late, iOS is usually the reason:

- **Focus / Do Not Disturb:** silences everything. Add your football app to the allowed list of your Focus, or switch Focus off on match days.
- **Scheduled Summary:** if the app's notifications land in the summary, goals arrive in a batch, hours later. In **Settings > Notifications > Scheduled Summary**, keep your football app out of it.
- **Low Power Mode:** can delay background delivery. Worth disabling during matches.

## 4. Keep the whole match on your Lock Screen

Notifications mark the moments; a Live Activity shows the state of the match the whole time. In KickFlow, open the match and tap **Follow**: the live score and the match minute stay pinned to your Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island, updating on their own. Together with goal alerts, you get the moment and the context.
